Award-winning pianist Yinzhi Yuan has established himself as a compelling artist of his generation. His honours include first prize at the International Medtner Competition in Heidelberg and third prize at the International Magnus Piano Competition. He regularly performs across the UK and continental Europe, with performances in cities such as London, Manchester, Brexton, Salzburg, Heidelberg, and Mallorca.

Yuan’s comprehensive musical education began in 2014 when he was admitted to the Junior Music School of Xinghai Conservatory of Music to study with Professor Jay Sun. In his three years there, he won several key competitions, including the conservatory’s Yamaha scholarship, for which he was invited to a solo recital in Guiyang and a recording of Bach's complete Inventions & Sinfonias in Shanghai. He also secured prizes in the Pearl River Piano Competition, Irmler International Youth Piano Competition, and Kawai Asian Piano Competition.

In 2017, Yuan entered the prestigious Royal College of Music with a substantial scholarship to study under Professor Dina Parakhina, earning both a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music in Performance. During his studies there, he won the College’s most renowned Chappell Medal Piano Competition and the second place in the Kendall Taylor Beethoven Piano Competition. He then continued his advanced studies in the with Pascal Nemirovski at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with full scholarships, where he swept most of the major prizes for solo piano. He completed his study at the RBC with an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in 2025. Currently, Yuan is studying with Krzysztof Jablonski and Michael Tsalka under the Doctor of Music Programme in the School of Music of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen.

Yuan has had the privilege of participating in masterclasses with esteemed musicians such as John Perry, Christopher Elton, Stephen Hough, and Dina Yoffe, Eliso Virsaladze, Michel Beroff, Noriko Ogawa, Claudius Tanski, and others.
